I was addicted to Makita products
I've been a Makita fan since I bought the battery-powered electric fan "CF102D" in the summer of 2018 (141st "I bought a Makita fan that can be used in a Humvee car without a cooler").
The CF102D is for people who already use Makita products, and it doesn't come with a battery, so I had to buy it separately. So I bought a cordless vacuum cleaner "CL142FDRFW" with a 14.4V 3.0Ah battery and a charger. If it is a set product, the battery will be nearly half the price, so it is a great deal.
After that, I bought the 18V 6.0Ah battery as a single item. After all one is uneasy. The CF102D is a dual-purpose type that can use 14.4V and 18V batteries, so I thought it would be better to have a high voltage and a large capacity, so I chose this one with the maximum capacity of 18V.
18V battery is the main
The next thing I bought was the reciprocating saw "JR144DZ" (145th "I bought Makita's electric saw and pruning became easier"). An electric saw whose blade can move back and forth to cut tree branches. I bought only the main body as a single item.
And the impact driver "TD171D" (261st "Rechargeable impact driver that" hits and tightens "screws"). This is the first 18V battery-only product in my history. If there are two types of batteries, it will be difficult to reuse them, so I decided to prepare equipment that can use 18V from now on.
After that, I bought a USB adapter "ADP05" that can charge USB devices (201st "Adapter that can charge a smartphone with a Makita battery that is useful in the event of a disaster"), and bought a work light "ML807" (No. 272). Time "The work light that can be used with Makita's common battery is convenient, I should have bought it early!"). As with the electric fan, these two can use both 14.4V and 18V batteries.
Batteries that have begun to increase
That's all for the introduction in this series, but in fact, I still have other things I bought. Moreover, there are multiple.
Disc grinders and driver drills have recently joined the ranks of blowers. And if you notice, the battery will multiply. 14.4V is only the first one, but I bought a disc grinder and a driver drill with a battery, so there are as many as 7 18V batteries.
When this happens, management is difficult. It happened that some batteries were used all the time, but some batteries weren't used at all, and the frequency of use tended to be biased. I want to use it as evenly as possible.
Buy nostalgic DYMO
To manage it, you must first know which battery is which. I need a label.
I bought DYMO there. It is a nostalgic embossed type label maker called "1880".
I bought a label maker, DYMO.It's been decades
Nowadays, label makers such as label writers and label printers, which are much more convenient and highly functional than embossed labels, are the mainstream, and Dymo also has such products.
But the embossed type has my own advantage, which makes it look like US military equipment. It was affixed to the case I bought before, and I thought it was a little nice. So, I wanted to imitate it someday.
It's a small and super lightweight model
DYMO was founded in 1958 in California, USA. Acquired by Newell Rubbermaid in 2005, the Newell Rubbermaid was renamed Newell Brands in 2016. In addition to DYMO, Newell Brands owns brands such as writing instrument Parker and drafting tool Rotring, American classic marker Sharpie, baby products applica, and outdoor Coleman.
In the 1965's when I was small, it was widespread in Japan, and I had one in my house. I've seen it here and there in my neighborhood, and maybe it was like one in a family.
At that time, I was using it to hold it vertically like a pistol, but this 1880 is designed to hold it horizontally. I remember the size was bigger, but it's small enough to fit in the palm of my hand.
It is palm-sized and weighs only 66g.Even with the tape set, it weighs only about 78g.
The actual weight is 66g. Even with the unused tape attached, it weighed only 78g. It's really light.
The dial can be replaced
DYMO's embossed label makers have three series: small personal, standard with many types of tapes that can be used in general sizes, and professionals that are made of metal and also have aluminum tape plates, and the 1880 is the first personal to replace the dial. It is a model that came to be.
The main body, 3 dials, 1 roll of 9 mm wide tape, and a strap are included in the set.
There are 3 types of dials included. The first set green dial is uppercase alphabet + numbers, pink is lowercase + pictograms, and blue is lowercase cursive + cursive-like font numbers.
There are three types of DYMO tape widths of 6, 9, and 12 mm, but the tapes that can be used in the personal series are limited to 9 mm, and the 1880 came with one black tape. The color is not fixed, and it seems that tapes of other colors may be included.
Instructions are photos only
How to use is on the back of the package. There was no other thing like a manual.
The explanation of how to use is only a photo without letters. Some parts are a little difficult to understand
Except for "Casette 9mm" at the beginning of usage, all are only symbols such as photos and arrows, and there are no letters. I think it's global, but it may be a little difficult for people who use it for the first time.
Set the tape
First, insert the tape into the main body.
Insert the tip of the tape into the groove of the main body
I insert the tip into the groove, but it immediately hits the gear of the tape feed mechanism, so if I let go of it, it will come off.
Grip the grip once while pushing the tape to feed the tape
This can be solved by pushing the tape toward the back and lightly grasping the grip once. The gear will bite firmly enough that it will not move even if you pull it.
Fit the side part of the tape cartridge into the clip of the main body.
In the place marked "1b" in the manual, a U-shaped arrow is drawn in the clip-shaped part, and I did not understand this meaning, but when I look at the pictures after that, it seems that " Insert the tape cartridge here. "
Comes with a cartridge
There is no photo seen from the side, and the position of the tape is quite high, so is it really suitable? I was worried, but this seems to be fine. It seems that it will be just right if it decreases, and there is a protrusion on the inside of the cartridge where the convex part of the tip of the clip is caught, so it seems that there is no mistake.
Then send a click and tape to align the tip with the vertical bar mark.
After setting the tape, lightly click the grip about 8 more times and feed it until the tip of the tape comes to the mark of the vertical bar on the left. Now you are ready.
Just align the dial and grip the grip
Next is the engraving of letters.
Turn the dial to set the letters
Turn the dial to align the character you want to type with the protrusion below. And this time, hold the grip firmly and click.
Grip the grip tightly and hit the first letter. The tape will be sent automatically, so you can type the remaining characters one after another.
When the first character is stamped, a tape will be sent and you will be ready to hit the second character. After that, turn the dial to set the letters, click! Repeat. If you want to make space, just lightly grasp the grip as you did at the beginning and you can proceed with the tape without stamping.
Cut the tape
When you have finished typing the letters, lightly grasp them again and send the tape.
Send the tape and align the tail of the typed character with the vertical bar mark.
It's okay if you send until the last character of the stamped character matches the vertical bar mark that was set at the start. Then match the dial with the scissors illustration.
Grip the dial tightly according to the scissors
The illustration of the scissors is the mark of the cutter. If you hold the grip according to this point, the tape will be cut.
If you pull the tape, it will come out quickly
The tape is complete!
By the way, this is a failure example. If you do not hold it properly, the letters will be thin.
This completes the tape. This cutter is very well made and not only cuts the tape to the required length, but also makes it easier to remove the vinyl that protects the adhesive surface.
It cuts the edge of the plastic tape on the surface
Leave the thickness of one piece of vinyl, and only the plastic tape on the table is cut about 2 mm from the end, so when sticking, pinch this and peel off the vinyl.
The dial can be easily replaced at any time
To replace the dial, simply turn the dial in the center to remove it, set a new dial, and return it to its original state.
Rotate the dial 90 degrees to remove it
Remove the dial, insert a new dial and return the dial.
It's okay if you want to use a different character set while typing. The dial can be replaced without changing the tape.
If it is long, adjust it with scissors.
The voltage and serial number are stamped on the tape. Since there is only one 14.4V, only one of "14.4V 01". I made 7 pieces of 18V from "18V 01" to "18V 07".
So, when I thought about sticking it on the battery, the tape was a little long for the place I wanted to stick it. but it's okay. It can be easily cut with scissors.
Cut with scissors to adjust the length
Even though the vinyl on the back can be easily peeled off, it's a waste to cut that part, but it can't be helped. The vinyl was crispy with my nails and peeled off.
Perfect for batteries. It looks like equipment!
As soon as there is a label, it looks like a controlled item. Whether it feels cool or not depends on each person, but as mentioned above, it has the image of a US military surplus and is super good for me! It may be good to put an appropriate character string like that on your smartphone or computer.
